Heaven surely rejoiced in the coming of Robert Thomas Storms last week. Mr.
Storms passed from this life Thursday evening, July 28, 2011 at Pioneer Manor
Nursing Home in Hugoton. He was 91.
The son of Irvin Ralph Storms and the former Hattie Lee Westerfield, he was born
June 12, 1920 in rural Hugoton.
He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
August 5, 1951, Robert and Irene Joyce Morford were united in marriage in
Hugoton.
Mr. Storms was a minister preaching at the Friends Churches in Centerview,
Springfield, Co., Coldwater, Belleville, LaJunta, Co., and Chivington, Co. They
moved from Chivington to Hugoton July 15, 1997.
Mr. Storms was a member of the Friends Church of Chivington. He attended the
Nazarene Church and Friends Church both of Hugoton. Robert loved people, never
met a stranger and had a strong belief in God. He was very attentive to his
wife.
Survivors include his wife Irene J. Storms of Hugoton; one son, Aaron K. Storms
and wife Robin of Black Hawk, Co.; daughter Gayle M. Brown and husband Jeff of
Wallace; his sister Clara Sissel of Odessa, Tx.; seven grandchildren; two great
grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding Mr. Storms in death were his parents; two brothers, George Lee Storms
and Irvin Ralph Storms, Jr.; and five sisters, Helen Andrews, Clemmie Morford
Thacker, Pearl L. Storms, Joyce Ann Brewer and Alice Betsworth.
Services were attended Saturday afternoon, July 30, 2011 at the Church of The
Nazarene in Hugoton with Rev. David Piper and Pastor Eric Mason presiding.
Military graveside services were observed at Hugoton Cemetery. Paul's Funeral
Home of Hugoton was in charge of the arrangements.
A memorial has been established for Pioneer Manor Nursing Home. Memorials may be
mailed to Paul's Funeral Home, Box 236, Hugoton, Ks. 67951.

HUGOTON — Robert Thomas Storms, 91, of Hugoton, died Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton.
He was born June 12, 1920, in rural Hugoton, to Irvin Ralph and Hattie Lee Westerfield Storms.
A Hugoton resident since July 15, 1997, Mr. Storms was a minister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On Aug. 5, 1951, he married Irene Joyce Morford in Hugoton. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Aaron K. Storms of Black Hawk, Colo.; a daughter, Gayle M. Brown of Wallace; a sister, Clara Sissel of Odessa, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George Lee Storms and Irvin Ralph Storms Jr.; and five sisters, Helen Andrews, Clemmie Morford Thacker, Pearl L. Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Church Of The Nazarene, Hugoton. Military graveside service will be at Hugoton Cemetery.
Visitation hours are 4 to 8 p.m. today at Paul's Funeral Home, Hugoton.
